Sydney is blissfully unaware of the complexities and hurdles facing Jenny as she navigates through the difficulties facing a woman in the early 21st Century. Jenny has to deal with being barraged by advertising at every turn, with insane levels of traffic on the freeways, and the challenges of balancing the ever-shrinking purchasing power of the dollar against Jenny’s desire to save the planet and buy only eco-friendly stuff.
In contrast, all Sydney has to deal with is the unwonted attentions of the neighbours’ cats and perhaps occasionally a raccoon, or, (very infrequently) a fox.
We cannot tell from this remove whether Sydney is male or female, but it would be safe to assume that the pressing issues in Sydney’s life are whether Jenny will be home early today and whether Jenny will ever realise that Sydney is getting a little bored with being fed the same brand of cat food every night.

Sydney is a boy and if the neighbour cat is giving him attention, he is taunting him because Sydney is not allowed to go outside and play. However, I believe Sydney annoyingly wakes Jenny because she feeds him the same dull dry food in the morning, one of his great highlights of the day. His brother, Jacomo is a bore so every once in awhile he attacks him just to get some exercise.
